Refreshingly Tidied

I’m beginning to see bright yellow school busses rounding neighborhood corners once again. I’m also beginning to see relaxed mom’s wandering target all alone, sniffing the fall candles and savoring the quiet after enjoying full summers with families. (I so love this season each year. I also love overhearing chatter about it “being so nice to get back into routine again.” And I really couldn’t agree more. It really is so nice.)

Which brings me to this week’s job recap. The refresh. (Think, a sort of household management self-care.) Our team worked in a dear regular client’s home this past week, refreshing her kitchen and office spaces. After a full summer of activities like swimming and everyone making their own snacks and crafts to s’mores around the evening campfire, everything simply needed a solid tidy.

Things tend to slide a little during the summer months for the best of us and even if you don’t have children in the home, most spaces can stand to have a little bit of touching up before the rolling tide of fall activities and holiday take overs. The organizing bones of this week’s job didn’t need reworking for this busy family (we had put those into place years ago) but the drawers needed wiping out, random items needed to be removed and stashed where they belonged and it almost felt like the whole space breathed a sigh of contentment as we exited.

The only thing we really changed was a request we get quite a bit. We were asked to consolidate the two utility drawers down to one, and make space in the empty drawer for morning rush hair things and tooth brushes. (This busy mama was thinking ahead and we loved helping her implement this. We can’t wait to hear how much better her mornings function with this tweak.) You know what they say…work smarter, not harder! Ha!

xoxo, Sasha

About the Author

My name is Sasha. I am a wife to my high-school sweetheart of 30 years and mother to two amazing Army kids. I’m one of the newest members of the Orderly team. I cut my teeth on the organizing gig after a decade of this job in the glorious PNW. I learned the importance of form + function while working for my first organizing job, and then coupled that with learning the art of luxury and esthetics for my second job. Together, I enjoy bringing the balance of both previous companies to my clients here in Utah and finding ways to solve problems beautifully.

We loved helping our client get organized in East Millcreek. Back to school is a busy time for moms, and we would love to help you get organized too.
