At Orderly we understand how busy life can be. No, really, our team of Utah home organizing experts have thirteen children between us. We all have learned the importance of organizing to maintain a happy and balanced home life. Nearly two years ago I welcomed my first child and a lot of my view of organizing has changed since then. I have never believed in this work more and today I want to share some tips for staying organized as a busy mom.

#1: Daily Autopilot Non-Negotiables

I love when things run on auto pilot. So after asking my Google Home to start my Roomba- I get to work. Wake up the baby, start breakfast, unload dishwasher, start a load of laundry. I never have to think too hard about what comes next because I do them in generally the same order every day. I find in particular doing a load of laundry and running the dishwasher everyday make a big difference in keeping our home in order.

#2: Assign a Household Task a Day

Along the same lines as number one, I love the simplicity of knowing which tasks happen on which days. Here is what it looks like for me:

Sundays: Before bed reset the house for the week- tidy each room and mop the floors. Spend time planning out my week and meals and order groceries to come in the morning.

Mondays: Grocery ordered and put away. Cut and prep produce for snacks.

Tuesdays: Errand catch up day.

Wednesdays: Wash all bedding.

Thursdays: House cleaning day (every other week I do a deep clean)

Fridays: Prioritize rest and fun!

Saturdays: Laundry catch up day
